Original thread: [https://forums.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=17407 Car squeaks and rattles]

'''PROBLEM:''' My car squeeks and rattles--what can be done to minimize this?

''One Solution'' Lubricate! Your door seals, hinges, and latches may need attention.

'''How do I do it?''' Spray silicone on a rag away from the car, and wipe the door seals with the saturated rag--repeat this a few times a year and you'll notice that your car is quieter. Also lubricate the hinges with white lithium grease,(the spray works well) and hit the latches with a bit of Tri-Flow or graphite.

Also check the condition of the latch bumpers and catches--replace missing or worn parts.
